There are many reasons to decorate a tall chest of drawers or change their appearance. For example, a substantial amount of money can be saved by buying a chest of drawers used and refinishing instead of buying a new one. Or perhaps a child is redecorating her room and would like your furniture to suit a more mature theme.
Evaluate tall chest of drawers you want to decorate and determine whether to remove all paint and stain the part. Note that this could take a considerable amount of time. Usually it is easier to sand all loose or chipped paint and just paint over it. Starting with rough sandpaper and ending with a finer grain, until all loose paint has been removed.
Apply paint remover with a brush according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Use a flat paint scraper to carefully remove the painting point. Seal gaps or holes knots on a wooden dresser with putty that is designated specifically for wood and reasonably matches the color will paint. Paint carefully with a latex paint. Remove drawers and paint separately. Paint small sections at a time, following the grain of the wood in each section. If the original color is showing through, you may have to apply multiple layers to get new look tall chest of drawers.
